Abstracts

On Sex, Colors and Body. – The jazz legend is another sort of history and historicity, a history of bodies and domination turned into a game, a theatrical expression and form. The music is this history’s language, its framework and origin. All this can be seen in dance, parties, the way of walking; and some of it even has to do with the voice and excessive behaviors. Examples are taken from Lester Young, Jimmy Blanton and Paul Gonsalves.
